Tiramisu recipe

I have made Italian Tiramisu cake in many different ways. This recipe below is just one easy way to make it at home without using eggs.

Ingredients for 20 squares of Tiramisu:

500 ml. mascarpone cheese,
1 litre whipping cream,
120 gr. granulated sugar,
4 cups double espresso,
100 ml. Tia Maria or Kahlua,
50 ml. natural vanilla extract,
2 pounds lady fingers Savoiardi biscotti.

Recipe: Put the mascarpone, the sugar and the cream in a mixing bowl and whip them together to stiff peaks. Cool down the coffee and mix it with the liqueur and the vanilla extract. Dip each lady finger in the coffee mixture and arrange them horizontally in a suitable tray. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top of the first layer of lady fingers, and continue with the second layer, but this time arrange them in the other direction. Spread the second half of the mascarpone on top and shave some semi-sweet bakers chocolate over the dessert. Cover the Tiramisu and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours to set before cutting. Cooking tip: You could also arrange the tiramisu in individual martini glasses, instead on a tray, or use a cake form, as in my other tiramisu recipe, here.
