350 gr. Brie cheese,
1 kg. pastry dough (you can get frozen
choux pastry from a store),
1 cup walnuts,
1 large egg,
75 ml. milk,
1 tbsp. brown sugar.
Recipe: Cut the Brie cheese to about 35 chunks and completely enclose them in pastry dough. Put the Brie En Croutes on a greased baking sheet with seam side of dough facing down. Make egg wash from the eggs and milk and brush the en croutes with a pastry brush. Stick a piece of walnut on top of each en croute without breaking a hole in the dough. Bake at 365 F for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Towards the end of the baking, sprinkle the en croutes with little brown sugar. Brie en croute is an excellent choice for a party appetizer.
