BRIE EN CROUTE - APPETIZER RECIPE

Ingredients:

350 gr. Brie cheese,
1 kg. pastry dough (you can get frozen choux pastry from a store),
1 cup walnuts,
1 large egg,
75 ml. milk,
1 tbsp. brown sugar.

Recipe:

1. Cut the Brie cheese to about 35 chunks and completely enclose them in pastry dough.

2. Put the Brie En Croutes on a greased baking sheet with seam side of dough facing down.

3. Make egg wash from the eggs and milk and brush the en croutes with a pastry brush.

4. Stick a piece of walnut on top of each en croute without breaking a hole in the dough.

5. Bake at 365 F for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.

6. Towards the end of the baking, sprinkle the en croutes with little brown sugar.

Brie en croute is an excellent choice for a party appetizer. Also, check my recipe with picture for Brie En Croute With Strawberry Coulis.
